ACEVEDO - Gregorio Age 84, of Amherst, NY, passed away on August 3, 2018. Gregorio was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Francisco Acevedo and Angelina Acevedo (nee Reyes) on November 4, 1933. After working at a number of manufacturing plants in Buffalo, including Republic Steel, the Crosby Company, and Ford Motor Company, Gregorio began working for Anaconda American Brass in 1971, continuing after it was acquired by ARCO, the Buffalo Brass Company, and Outokumpu Oyj Mining Company until he retired in 1996. Among his pastimes, Gregorio enjoyed gardening and watching or talking about sports. Gregorio looked back fondly on his time playing baseball as a young man in the Buffalo Municipal Baseball League. Gregorio was a longtime parishioner at Holy Cross Church on the Lower West Side.
Gregorio is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amelia (nee Mauras), sons Frank (Annette, nee Sepulveda) and Greg (Claire Donato), sister Ana Celia Delrio, granddaughter Juliana Acevedo, and his many nieces and nephews. Gregorio was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Miguel (Carmelita), Luis, and Carmelo.
