Wednesday, January 10, 2018So sorry to hear about your loss. I just wanted to provide the family with some encouragement during this difficult time. The Bible provides the best comfort from God. Revelation 21:3, 4 says that God will get rid of death, pain, sorrow, sickness, and tears forever. In order for our dead loved ones to benefit they have to be resurrected because our loving and merciful God would never leave them out. I hope this brings some comfort to your family. Take Care

Tuesday, January 9, 2018Greg and Joanne We’re so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was sweet, thoughtful and funny, one of my most favorite people ever, and I’m honored to be related to him. You probably already know this story but it bears repeating – our Mom spent a bunch of time with a much-younger Norb when she first started dating our Dad. Many years later, when your Dad proudly brought his fiancée to meet them for the first time, it turned out to be a reunion – before she met Dad, Mom had babysat Aunt Aileen. This proved to everyone that our family was meant to be together. I have clear memories of your Dad playing horseshoes with all his brothers and Grandpa (he was the best). He always had a joke or two to tell and could never get through the telling without starting to laugh at it himself, which made his stand-up routines even funnier. We also have some great memories of our fishing trips together in the early 1980s, including your Dad’s comment during a cast into the lake (“If I catch a clam, I’m leaving”) and the hilarity when he pulled in a clam on that same cast. No one laughed harder at this than your Dad. This is still one of our go-to catch phrases on our fishing trips. Your Dad sold Diane and me our first insurance policy and gave us his solar calculator after the sale (I still have it somewhere). At last year’s family reunion, he and I talked for about 1 hour and I learned things about him that I never knew, including his rebellious streak before he got married. This time was precious to me – I’d never spent so much one-on-one time with him before. We all hope to make a positive impact on this world. I hope you can take solace in the fact that your Dad and Mom touched hundreds of lives and we are all better people because of them. Craig and Diane

Monday, January 8, 2018Greg and Joanne We were very saddened to hear about your Dad passing. I have some very fond memories of Uncle Norb and in the past few years really looked forward to seeing him at the family picnic. I had a lot of respect for the way he approached life and worked to become better at the activities he chose to participate in, even recreational ones such as golf and horseshoes. Over the past couple of years, I enjoyed playing the cornhole game him as he was naturally good at it. His sense of humor and his jokes always made me laugh and I will miss him. We probably can not make the services but know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Monday, January 8, 2018Greg & Joanne, I am so sorry that we lost your Dad on Friday. Uncle Norb was very much like my own Dad and we truly cherished those characteristics, especially in the last four years since our Dad passed. Uncle Norb was goofy and funny, kind-hearted and good-natured – all the best Steger traits. I know you're broken hearted but I hope it helps to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We will be there in force to support you, pay our respects and help you pay tribute to your Father. He will definitely be missed. Big hugs to all of you. Love Trina, Dominic and Camryn

Monday, January 8, 2018Greg and Joann - I'm so sorry to hear about this. I had an enormous amount of respect for your father. He was quite an influence on me when I was younger. He was the one who got me to start running...something that I continue to do to this day. I can remember our first marathon together. He was twice my age and beat me my several minutes. And to this day I think back on all of the times that he and I would go golfing together or go salmon fishing in the Niagara River. I'm going to miss your Dad...he was a great man.

Monday, January 8, 2018My condolences to the Steger family for the loss of Norbert. Norb was my next door neighbor. He was such a kind man, always willing to help me out with any outdoor household needs or he'd look after my cats when I was away on vacation. I will miss seeing him outside during the summer. My thoughts and prayers are with the Steger family during this difficult time. - Marisa Nold
